So, I’m about an hour into QUARANTINEAnd I’m calling massive BS. Massive BS that sacrificed Story Logic As Dictated for a good cheap scare. Meh. Debating tossing this back to Netflix un-completed. Am I making a mistake? EDIT – I watched two more minutes and stopped it in disgust. Not at the effects or the terror, but the stupidity being exhibited by the main characters. Bah. Is there EVER a case where the American version of a foreign horror movie is as good or better?
Aside, you’ve seen [REC] haven’t you?
I haven’t seen [REC], but I think my gripes about QUARANTINE got me attention from Sony, and one of their reps mailed me, telling me that it would be out on DVD in…July? I may be getting a review copy. Oh, more lengthy review above, BTW.
As for American remakes… THE RING was actually pretty good. I thought it was going to burn out, but the last five minutes made it for me. Haven’t seen the original to compare, though.
