1. I wandered the floor. I never saw you, but I did see your goatee'd evil twin many times. I took that as an ill omen.
2. There indeed is. It's a symbolist manifesto, in his own words, but is indeed a comic. There's info about it here: http://centuryguild.wordpress.com/2009/10/30/michael-zulli-and-the-fracture-of-the-universal-boy-part-one/
3. I don't remember writing anything like that. I actually wrote this fresh out of the show and on the plane, mostly.
4. Weird and slightly adorable, but also, y'know, completely reasonable.
5. You posted more than a lot of other people did at the show. I'll give you credit for work done.

1. So where were you?
2. There's a new Michael Zulli book coming out?
3. I wish I'd written the phrase "like great whites in the kelp forest"
4. Don't you find it weird and slightly adorable that comics people still sort of expect to be let into those companies in greater numbers?
5. I wouldn't call it working, exactly.

[...] Highway 62 » Strangeways "What is STRANGEWAYS? Easy, it’s the horror/western (aka “Weird West”) graphic novel series written by myself, Matt Maxwell (esq, inc, ad nauseum), and illustrated by a tireless army of artists and craftsmen. Taking place in the late 1860s, STRANGEWAYS follows the story and travels of ex-Union Officer Seth Collins as he travels across the frontier, encountering strange creatures and happenings that haunt the closing frontier. As much horror as it is western, STRANGEWAYS delivers the thrills and chills, but doesn’t forget what makes the west an intriguing place all its own." (tags: comics) [...]

I want to say that this isn't a premonition of how things will be, but I have a hard time convincing myself of that. And really, to see someone as passionate as his work as Mr. Rucka is to walk away from a project, that's a kick in the face. There might be zero drama (and in fact, there is zero public drama other than from outside agitators like myself) but that doesn't mean that it wasn't a big deal.

Sadly, abandoned work in the land of for-hire is a too-frequent thing. But then, the characters are always more important than the artists interpreting them.
